A widespread series of ransomware attacks hit organizations in more than 100 countries within a span of 48 hours, believed to be the biggest attack of its kind ever recorded. As of today, the attack is known to have hit hospitals, rail systems, and telecommunications and courier services, along with many other organizations and individuals.
More than 130K endpoints have been reported as infected and victims are being asked to pay up to $300 to unlock each device. What you can do now:
- Patch with BigFix: Ensure your systems are patched (MS17-010) and that your anti-virus signatures are up to date.
- Block with XGS: For any unpatched systems, blocking is the next line of defense. Companies must ensure all signatures are up-to-date on their anti-virus systems and network blocking technologies.
